This page explains the limited cookie and local-storage practices of the current Pressed North build. It should be reviewed whenever the publisher adds third-party services.

What cookies are

Cookies are small files that a website or service can store in a browser. Related technologies, including local storage and pixels, can also be used to remember choices, measure activity or deliver advertising. Their effect depends on the service that sets them.

What this site currently uses

The static front-end in this delivery does not intentionally set analytics cookies, advertising cookies, preference cookies or social-media pixels. It does not display a cookie banner because it does not load optional tracking technology. A hosting provider may still process technical request information or use essential security features needed to serve a page. Those features should be documented by the operating publisher before launch.

Essential and preference technologies

If strictly necessary security or load-balancing features are enabled by a hosting provider, they may operate without providing audience measurement or advertising profiling. This version does not offer a persistent reader preference such as a saved theme, account setting or newsletter profile. If either type of feature is introduced, this page should be updated with its name, purpose, provider and duration.

Advertising and analytics changes

Google explains that Google advertising products may use cookies from Google or partner domains when those products are deployed. See Google’s advertising-technologies explanation. If the publisher later adds Google Ads conversion measurement, Google Analytics, AdSense, remarketing or another non-essential service, it must update this page, update the Privacy Policy and implement the consent and opt-out controls required in the locations where visitors are reached. Non-essential tags should not load before a legally required choice is honoured.

How to control cookies

Most browsers allow you to block, delete or limit cookies through their privacy settings. Blocking all cookies can affect features on some websites. Google also provides controls for advertising personalisation through its Ad Settings page. See Google My Ad Center. If a consent choice is later offered on this website, the publisher should provide an equally accessible way to change or withdraw that choice.
