Civic Signal is a minimal editorial project about public systems and the people who keep them running. We do not treat technology as a separate sector. A dispatch screen, a route update and a well-timed announcement are part of the everyday service people experience.

We write with a preference for evidence over spectacle. A system can be complex without being mysterious, and a plain explanation is often the most useful public feature it can offer. Our stories trace how information moves, where it stalls and who notices first.

Tonight’s log looks through the glass of a transit control room. The screens are not the story on their own. The story is the shared attention that turns a signal into a decision passengers can feel on a platform minutes later.
