This page identifies the cookie categories that a live version of Helpf Community Journal may need to disclose. The current prototype does not intentionally deploy advertising, analytics or preference cookies.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files placed by a website or a provider acting through a site. Similar technologies include pixels, tags, local storage and device identifiers. They can support essential operations, security, preferences, audience measurement and advertising.

Essential and security technologies

A live site may use strictly necessary technologies to load the site, protect against abuse, remember security-related settings and store a user’s privacy choice. Where local law permits, some essential technologies may operate without consent; the real implementation must be assessed and documented.

Preference technologies

If enabled, these may remember choices such as language, text-size preferences or consent settings. This prototype does not store such choices.

Analytics and advertising technologies

If a live site activates analytics or advertising, it must name the relevant provider, explain the purpose, identify any cookies or similar technologies used where appropriate, state their lifespan when known, and give users a working control to accept, reject or later change non-essential choices. Google technologies may use cookies and similar technologies for delivery, measurement, frequency capping and, subject to consent and settings, personalized advertising.

How to manage cookies

Users can manage cookies in browser and device settings. A live version must also offer a persistent on-site preferences link. For relevant regions, a publisher needs a compliant consent solution rather than relying only on browser controls or this policy page.
